Travel Approval!!

Travel approval arrived today! The next step is getting our U.S. Consulate Appointment in Guangzhou. Our adoption agency is requesting it for the week of Sept. 25. If we get our appointment that week, our tentative date of departure for Beijing is Sept. 14!! As soon as we receive our consulate appt., we can book our flights. I still can't believe how quickly this is happening! Here is our China itinerary:

Day 1 – Depart for Beijing

Day 2 – Arrive in Beijing

Day 3 – Beijing Cultural Tour: The Great Wall, Tian'an Men Square and the Forbidden City

Day 4 – Travel to Hefei, Anhui. Get Zoe!

Days 5 to 9 – Bonding with Zoe, sightseeing, and official paperwork

Day 10 – Travel from Anhui to Guangzhou

Day 11 – Zoe’s medical exam

Day 12 – Consulate Appointment

Day 13 – Pick up Zoe’s exit visa

Day 14 – Morning departure from Guangzhou to the US

We had our last vaccinations today. Doug and Katie were awful--it was embarassing. They both had to be held down. They've never acted like that at the doctor's office, but for some reason they enjoyed putting on a show at the Travel Clinic. We also got prescriptions for Malaria and travelers diarrhea. We are stocked when it comes to meds! The only thing I haven't been able to get anyone to prescribe is amoxicillan for all 3 of the kids, in case of ear infections, etc. But I have one more contact, so hopefully we'll have that soon. We may actually be ready to go in 3 weeks!
