Can you feel the love?
I remember when I was pregnant, how excited everyone was for us, but this adoption thing might have that beat. Everywhere we turn we are showered with good wishes and so much love! Everyday there is a new e-mail in my inbox wishing us happiness, safe travel, and Godspeed. And it's the same with everyone we talk to, from bank tellers to teachers at the kids' school to all of our friends and family. Between all of the excitement of the trip, and all of the good vibes coming our way, we feel like we are just walking on air.
Tonight we gave Doug and Katie a travel care package. We got them each personal CD/MP3 players, with some CD's, sketchbooks, notebooks, crayons, drawing pencils, and books. They absoulutely love the CD players! Jerry had downloaded a bunch of their favorite songs. They were so funny to watch -- singing at the top of their lungs and dancing around. They both went to bed with them on. Hopefully, they will provide hours of entertainment on the flight. We also plan to get some books on CD for them to listen to. Doug is a huge Harry Potter fan. We've read all the books to him, but he still likes listening to them on CD, so that should also keep him happy for hours.
These weeks since we got our referral have just flown by. I found the 12 months and 23 days between the time of our LID and our referral very difficult to get through. But for some reason, once we got her picture, everything became so much easier. And here we are ready to leave in just a couple of days!

I had a friend joke with me that I was adopting because I didn't want to get pregnant again. Adopting is harder...you have no idea where you're baby is and if she's safe.
Best wishes to all of you. We will be thinking about all of you. Zoe is so cute!!
